Terestella González Denton is a dedicated public servant and educator from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Terestella has over 30 years of solid experience in tourism and hospitality, having served as Puerto Rico’s Minister of Tourism and as Dean of the International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts at SUAGM.

For more than 25 years, Federico has dedicated his entire professional career assisting clients in developing and implementing successful government relations and public policy strategies and initiatives. Throughout his career Federico has garnered a keen understanding of the political, legislative, regulatory processes and business environment, as well as developed an influential network of key political and business relationships across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Federico’s career includes leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial firms and non-profit organizations such as Royal Caribbean Group, Global Ports Holding, AARP, Walmart and Advent Morro Equity Partners. Prior to forming Gondens, Federico worked as Vice-President of Royal Caribbean Group for Latin America & the Caribbean where he was involved in managing the Royal’s relationships with governments in Latin America and the Caribbean for over 12 years.

Federico holds a Masters of Laws degree from Tulane University School of Law, a Juris Doctor from Interamerican University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in European history from the University of Puerto Rico and is admitted to practice law at the US Court of International Trade, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the US District Court of Puerto Rico and the Courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

In addition to his work, Federico has also volunteered his time to trade organizations and non-profit organizations such as the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) among others.

Federico is fluent in both Spanish and English.

She recently ran for mayor of San Juan under the Popular Democratic Party (PPD). Her campaign focused on creating more public spaces, improving education, promoting sustainable tourism, and ensuring affordable housing for all residents. Terestella is passionate about making San Juan a more livable and inclusive city for everyone.

Throughout her career, Terestella González Denton has made significant contributions, particularly in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and public service. Some of her most notable accomplishments include:

  • Minister of Tourism of Puerto Rico: Terestella played a key role in promoting tourism across the island, working to attract visitors and boost the local economy.
  • Dean of the International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts at SUAGM: As Dean, she focused on providing high-quality education and training to students pursuing careers in hospitality and culinary arts.
  • Mayoral Campaign: Terestella ran for Mayor of San Juan under the Popular Democratic Party (PPD), with a platform centered on expanding public spaces, enhancing education, encouraging sustainable tourism, and securing affordable housing for all residents.
  • Her dedication to improving quality of life in San Juan, along with her extensive experience in tourism and hospitality, underscores her commitment to public service and sustainable tourism development.

With strong communication and leadership skills, she serves as the Legal and Compliance Director, bringing her knowledge and experience to strengthen the company’s legal and compliance framework.

Salome’s responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing compliance programs to ensure the organization operates within legal and ethical boundaries.

  • Monitoring and auditing to identify and address compliance risks.

  • Providing guidance to management and staff on legal and regulatory matters.

  • Staying up to date on changes in laws and regulations that could impact the organization.

  • Training management on compliance-related topics to foster a culture of integrity.

With her combination of legal and administrative expertise, along with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, Salome plays a vital role in ensuring Gondens’ legal and ethical stability.
